So, Mother’s Day was a complete bust. My mom couldn’t be with a lot of her family, we didn’t make a dinner for my mom, and we had a rough start to our morning. Hopefully you can see why this was an utter and complete bust.
Ever since quarantine started, we haven’t seen a lot of our family. So, when special events occur, you can’t have your family there, which is kind of hard when these events are meant to spent with our family. When Mother’s Day got here, my mom couldn’t have all of her family spend it with her. The only family that was able to come over, was my uncle, aunt, my other aunt, and my cousin. This amount of people wasn’t even close to the amount my mom wanted to see. All she got to see is her family she lives with and a few relatives. I think this made everyone a little sad and mad.
My mom is the worst when it comes to choosing what food she wants. Me, my dad, and brother had continuously asked my mom what she wanted to eat on Mother’s Day and we never got an actual answer. All we got was “I don’t know what I want, but I have been craving chicken fried steak.” Whenever we asked her if she wanted us to cook the steak, she always said no and “ya’ll don’t have to cook for me.” By the time Mother’s Day came, my mom still didn’t know what she wanted, so my dad ended up making sausage fold overs for dinner for all the other people who were at our house. Who doesn’t like sausage fold overs for Mother’s Day?
The morning started off terribly. My dad had planned on going to “Starbucks” to get my mom and my aunt coffee, so they could enjoy their morning. Well, that did not go as planned. My dad woke my brother and I up, so we could go with him and it took us about 15 minutes to get ready. After I was done getting ready, I noticed that my ear was hurting and that there was something in it. My mom then took a look at it, and she planned on fixing the problem when we got back. That minor problem slowed us down, but then my sister started crying because she wanted to go with us. We offered to take her with us, but my said that she would just cry so she and my mom ended up coming. We were half way out the door, when we all realized we wanted to take Deacon (our dog) with us. That idea failed when our dog got in the front seat instead of the back, so we took him back inside. We were finally in the car and ready to go.
I hope everybody had a wonderful Mother’s Day and enjoyed it with their family!
